The Year that Was Quiz!

Friday Dec 5th 7:00pm

We enjoyed a great night out despite atrocious weather for the Year That Was Quiz night. Stand-in Quiz Master Mark managed the boisterous quizzers admirably, and Jacquie kept the scores. The event was very well supported, with the hall almost packed out. Thanks to everyone who organised, helped, and even turned up on the night. We raised a whopping £504.51p

Sessay Carpet Bowls

Sessay Carpet Bowls meets every Tuesday evening in the village hall from the beginning of September until the end of March. The first practice session is on Tuesday, 9th September at 7:15 pm.

We have two teams that play against local teams in the Vale of Mowbray League.

No special Bowls, clothes or shoes needed. All ages welcome. Just come along at about 7:15 pm on a Tuesday and have a go.

Sunrise

In mid-December, if you were up early enough, you might have been treated to one of the gorgeous sunrise spectacles over the village. Normally, I’m hoping I’ll get someone to send a picture they took, but one day I was bombarded with images of the sunrise. I was still fast asleep, so missed it all, but thank you for the pictures, Doreen Till, Judith Walburn, Chris Langton and Margaret Watkinson. These may be better viewed on the website here.

Heck Warm Connection

We were approached by Heck (the Beadale Sausage Company) to provide facilities for a Warm Connection Lunch for the elderly in the village. They provided us with a lovely, warm lunch on Friday, December 19th. About 20 of us enjoyed a very nice pie, veg, mash and gravy lunch served by two extremely nice people from Heck. This was followed by Christmas pud, custard and drinks. Thank you, Heck!

Sessay Village Bar

Closed throughout January ~ due to reopen possibly Feb 6th

Christmas Chocolate Wreath Raffle

Thanks to all those who entered our raffle for the Chocolate Christmas Wreath. We sold all the tickets early, so it was drawn at the last Community Cafe. The number drawn was No.74, and the winner has been notified. Watch out for the next running raffle!

Re-gifting gifts!

Hello everybody! Did you get any presents that you would like to re-gift this year (or are still in the cupboard from last year)? If you did, could we ask you consider donating them to the Sessay Village Hall? We hold Raffles and Tombolas throughout the year and are always in need of good, unused items. Donations can be accepted by any Committee Member. Thank you in advance!
