Zen Kokyu,or Zen breathing, encourages us to be more mindful of our breathing, and can be used as a tool to improve our health and wellbeing. It is based on a breathing method
written by Zen master Hakuin Ekaku in the 18th century, which is said to improve concentration, blood flow, and relaxation levels in its users.

Sessay Events Committee

The Events Committee have their next meeting on February 19th at 7:30 pm in the Village Bar. The bar will be open and nibbles provided! They will be working on planning future events including the Scarecrow Festival which is planned for May and has been a great success two years ago.

Anyone is welcome to join and share skills, ideas and a little of their time to help with fundraising efforts and to offer a range of social events for the village. If you are interested in joining the Sessay Village Events Committee or can help out at a specific event come along to the meeting or email Heather Dale here.

Village Hall Refurbishment

The steel for the roof extension is expected today so hopefully we will soon have a roof and access to the storage space. Internally work is progressing with the new main entrance to the hall. Internal walls have been constructed to map out the new kitchen area, and the double doors to the hall are now closed. To enable the new external doors to be fitted the cylinder that supplies hot water to the kitchen has been removed. We have cold running water to the tap and hot water from the wall mounted boiler, which can be used for washing up with care. Please would you inform your members/ users of the change and to be careful when using the boiler. The hot water supply to the toilets is unaffected.

For now the entrance to the Hall will be through the double doors to the back of the hall where there is a ramp for easy access. Access to the kitchen and toilets will be maintained too. Again please take care! Whilst we are doing what we can to minimise disruption to the hall’s activities and keep the areas clean, inevitably there is dust about.

Sessay Community Trust AGM Cancelled

The AGM of Sessay Community Trust organised for Monday 5th February has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in due course. Following the recent meeting of the trustees and review of their obligations under the constitution it has come to light that certain items need addressing and publicising prior to the AGM. Full notification of the date will follow.

Sessay Community Trust has its next meeting on 18th MARCH at 7.30pm. Minutes can be found here.
