Sessay Village Archive

This page is the starting point of the Sessay Archive

Sessay Archive is an extensive set of documents stored in the refurbished Village Hall and are being developed online. This work is ongoing.

The documents were created, researched and extracted during a 3 years project sponsored by National Lottery funding. Sessay Historical Society involved many villagers in the project and created a book called Essays From Sessay which is a series of essays about prominent individuals and events in Sessay’s history. In association with the project, there was also a large exhibition of about 60 laminated panels displayed in the Village Hall. these were also compiled as a second book showing the history of Sessay and the research work done. It’s a snapshot in time and it documents the history of many village houses and the families that lived there. Both books are available for a small donation to the Village Hall funds.

The Digitized Archive can be found here. All links open in Google Drive.
