Harvest Festival
Friday October 4th St Cuthbert’s Church Sessay 7:00 pm and afterwards at the village hall
Everyone is most welcome at our celebration of Harvest. The service will begin at 7pm in Church and will be followed by a delicious supper and an auction of produce in the Village Hall. If you’ve never been before the auction is a very entertaining event with people bidding generously for desirable and undesirable items alike. Items for sale in the past ranged from kindling and potatoes to chocolate and whiskey.
We would be most grateful for any contributions to the supper and the sale of produce. These should be at the Hall between 6 and 7 pm on Friday 4th October.
We look forward to seeing you.

Christmas Fair
Saturday November 9th 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
A wide range of craft and food stalls have been booked with many returning from last year and even more stalls. There will also a Tombola and Refreshments. A great opportunity for some early Christmas shopping!
Any contributions towards the Tombola will be greatly appreciated. Please bring along to October’s coffee morning (Oct 26th) or bring to the village hall/bar on Friday 8th November.
Village Hall Refurbishment
Phase 1 of the refurbishment is still almost complete. The final part of this phase of activity, the decommissioning of the old kitchen is complete. The floor covering is now complete including the main entrance, the toilets and the club room. The club room has been made from the old kitchen and small meeting room, on the right of the main entrance. Solar panels and batteries will be installed in the coming months meaning the heating will run at minimal costs. Some more grants for minor things are still being applied for.
Fire Door Emergency Exit
The double doors in the main hall which we have been using as the entrance to the hall recently is now restored to its intended purpose and will be used as an Emergency Exit only. The ramp will remain in place for emergency evacuation of wheelchair users. The entrance to the village hall is the new main doors on the front of the building. This is fully accessible and should be used as the way in and out.
