20 mph Speed Limit
|
Sessay Garth residents will have had a letter pushed through their letterbox in the last week regarding creating a 20 mph speed limit through the village. The letter is self-explanatory, but I’d like to remind you to return your responses as soon as possible. The phone number in the original letter was wrong. Please use this number. In case you haven’t seen the letter, or want to send more than one reply from your household, please feel free to download it here, or ask Carole for another copy—phone 07789911784. |
Church Flowers
Can anyone spare a couple of hours a year to go on the Rota for altar flowers in the Church? This involves putting two vases of flowers on the altar approximately once a year, twice at the most. You do not need to be a fabulous flower arranger, just someone willing to give a little time. The new rota will be coming out by the end of February, so if you feel you can help, please contact Doreen Till on 01845 577906.
Footpaths
Footpaths and tracks around Sessay are precious and few. The farmers do their best, but at certain times of the year, the routes can be obscure. There may be an opportunity to replace and add to the footpath signs and markers. With this in mind, please can anyone wandering the local area, who notices a missing or damaged sign, take a photo and note the map reference or better still, ‘What-Three-Words’ location and forward to: John MacPherson by email

Sessay Sing and Share
February 26th, 2:00 pm
Sessay Sing and Share continues monthly, and we now have 2 new members. For now, we are meeting in each other’s homes. If you are interested in joining us, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me on 07904 769270. If the group gets large, we will look into hiring the meeting room at the village hall. Our next sing-and-share is on Thursday, 26th February, at Judith’s house in Pilmoor.

March 29th 1:00 pm
Please join us on Sunday, 29 March, to clear litter from the verges of our local roads. Bags, picking sticks and high viz vests will be available at Sessay Village Hall at 1.00 pm. Please do not use black bags, as the Council will only remove the blue ones that will be provided. Let’s keep our environment clean and tidy!

Refurbishment Update
The final phase of the Village Hall refurbishment is in progress. The changing facilities, the creation of a kitchenette, the reconfiguration of access to the main hall, and the refurbishment of the bar are well underway. The intention was to close the bar during January to facilitate the work. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, we have to extend this for February to allow the completion of the work. It will be worth the wait to have a comfortable, appealing village bar and enhanced social space for everyone to enjoy.
Open Meeting
Monday February 23rd 7:30 pm
Everyone is welcome to an Open Meeting of Sessay Community Trust. This is the charity which runs Sessay Village Hall. The meeting will comprise an update on the refurbishment of the hall, a financial statement and reports from officers and the various user groups who use the hall. Your chance to come along to ask questions and make suggestions.
Later in the year, there will be an AGM on Monday, April 13th and a second Open Meeting on November 16th.
Sessay Village Bar
Closed throughout January ~ due to reopen later in February, TBC
