In 1972 a group of ladies came together with the thought of forming an association for the older generation in the village, to hold informal meetings, with a guest speaker and a cup of tea. Hence, “Sessay Senior Citizens” was formed.
At some time its name was changed to “Sessay Tuesday Club”
The original format has changed very little over the years. We hold monthly meetings in the Village Hall, with a guest speaker and a cup of tea, starting usually at 2:00 pm, on the second Tuesday of the month.
During the year we try to organise a Christmas Lunch at a local hostelry and a Summer Outing at a local attraction.
Raffles and money-raising events provide funds enable the organisation to run.
We usually have about 30 members at a monthly meeting, some coming from neighbouring villages, and we always welcome new members.
