The Village Hall
Situated in the centre of Sessay, the Village Hall is the focal point of parish life. Comprising a large, light hall, meeting room, store, kitchen, bar and changing rooms, the building is home to numerous functions.
The main hall has a fixed, expandable stage, a sprung wooden floor, and a capacity of up to 112 people. It is used for indoor bowls, craft and art groups, community meetings, and private functions. Local supergroup the YO7s have performed here several times.
A separate tea-room / meeting room – with a well-equipped kitchen attached – hosts smaller get-togethers and provides catering facilities and food set-out for the main hall.
The spacious bar has a range of comfortable furniture, a pool table, darts and a TV. Staffed by volunteers it is open on Fridays during the winter and most weekends in the summer – especially for sports events such as bowls and cricket.
Outside the hall, there is a large parking area. The Bowls Club, with its clubhouse, adjoins the hall and there is also a children’s play area.
