Here is the July Newsletter for Sessay

Painting the Hall

Saturday July 6th and 13th 9:00 am onward

Our Village Hall has had the walls insulated and boarded. The ceiling has been tidied up and old fixtures removed. It now needs painting!

Please come and join the Painting Party on Saturday July 6th and Saturday July 13th 9:00 am onward. We have lots of paint and rollers but please bring your own brush. The last party was good fun and achieved a great deal, but this one will be the main hall and your handiwork will be on display for years to come!!  Sorry for the short notice!

Sessay Bowls Club

Saturday morning practice sessions every Saturday 10 am – 12 noon. Everyone welcome. If you’re new to bowling, help advice and bowls are available, just wear flat soled shoes. The green is in good condition but a little soggy at the moment, so please be aware that practice could be cancelled. The bowling green is behind the Village Hall.

Any other business

Anyone is welcome to join and share skills, ideas and a little of their time to help with fundraising efforts and to offer a range of social events for the village. After the summer hiatus, what events would you like to see in the autumn? If you are interested in joining the Sessay Village Events Committee or can help out at a specific event, come along to the meeting or email Heather Dale here. Next meeting Wednesday July 17th 7:30 at Laura’s house!

Village Hall Refurbishment

Phase 1 of the refurbishment has continued well in the last month. The pipework for heating is all in place. The walls and roof have been insulated. Much electrical work has been completed and updated. New lighting and boost heating has been installed. Still to do is the upgrading of the toilets and disabled toilet in the main hall, and the outside toilet too! Also to come are floor coverings and curtains, along with the painting of the main hall ( see above)! The new kitchen is nearly complete. The car park has been patched up and gravel added to the margins to reduce risk of accidents. Unfortunately the disruption to the use of the hall will continue. All users have been notified and events cancelled or re-sited in the bar area. Please continue to take care in the building whilst this is going on.

Sessay Community Trust

The next SCT Members committee meeting is scheduled for TUESDAY 16th JULY at 7.30pm. This is a meeting for representatives of the user groups to get full updates on progress in the management of the village hall.
