Cherry Tones

Saturday April 6th 7:30 pm

The Cherry Tones, Retro Harmony Singers from Hutton Sessay will be performing in Sessay Village Hall on Saturday 6th April 2024 at 7.30pm (Bar open from 7pm). Pre booked tickets £10 (including nibbles) or £12 on the door. Tickets available from Heather Dale  07467549302 or by email, or Lisa Cornell 07894 750155 or by email.

We are looking for donations for the raffle for this event. If you have anything you are able to donate, please contact Heather or Lisa, pass on to a committee member or bring along to the Community Cafe. Thanks.

Scarecrow Festival

Salsa For Beginners

Thursday March 28th 7:00 – 8:30pm

A five-week Salsa class started last week in Sessay Village Hall and there are four more sessions on Thursday evening at 7pm. You can learn the fundamentals of the world’s most popular dance style. Everyone welcome – £5 per session. Call Jess on 07515 896534 for more information.

Sessay Bowls Club

Saturday morning practice sessions could begin Saturday 20th April subject to weather conditions. 10 am – 12 noon. Everyone welcome. If you’re new to bowling, help advice and bowls are available, just wear flat soled shoes. The green is in good condition but a little soggy at the moment, so please be aware that practice could be cancelled. The bowling green is behind the Village Hall.

Sessay Bowls Club season begins on the 22nd April 2024 with a Galtres League match. Selection list will be displayed nearer the time.

A Well Deserved Award

Margaret “Watty” Watkinson has been awarded Honorary Life Membership of Otley show in recognition of her time supporting their Sheep Section. Congratulations Margaret !!

Tennis Coaching

Sessay Events Committee

Anyone is welcome to join and share skills, ideas and a little of their time to help with fundraising efforts and to offer a range of social events for the village. If you are interested in joining the Sessay Village Events Committee or can help out at a specific event come along to the meeting or email Heather Dale here.

Sessay Community Trust

Sessay Community Trust has its AGM on 8th April at 7.30pm. Members of this committee have been informed. Minutes of previous meetings can be found here. The next Open Meeting of Sessay Community Trust is 2nd September.

Village Hall Refurbishment

Stage 1 of the refurbishment is almost complete with a new Entrance and Storage room all up and running. The new kitchen area has also been completed and it is hoped to get the kitchen fitted out in May. Another grant application has been successful, thanks to Carole Trow, Doreen Till and Colin Sayers. This should provide funds to upgrade to eco-friendly heating for the hall and other areas, along with improved insulation and some redecoration in the hall.

Sessay Village Bar

Every Friday 6:00pm

The cricket season for Sessay Cricket Club starts with a match on April 20th, so from Friday 19th the Village Bar will once again be run by the Cricket Club for the season. Friday night is Juniors night and the bar opens at 6 and will close when were done! A nice social evening and full stop to the week. Keep up with gossip. Occasional quizzes and other events such as dominoes or bingo. Just for fun! Keep up to date for last minute changes via Sessay Village Bar Facebook page.

Hearts And Crafts Class 10:00. Classes vary each week. £2 entry. The class is currently heavily subscribed. Resources and Artists time is limited. If you’ve been before please keep coming. If you would like to start coming, then please contact Carole Trow by Email, and ask to go on a waiting list.
