Coronation Planning

Kings Coronation Village Celebrations, Monday 8th May 2023 2-5pm

1.Village Hall Communal finger buffet / picnic. Bar open
Participants to bring enough finger food per person attending, to be shared on a communal table set up in hall. Weather permitting eat outside.
Paper plates and serviettes to be provided by village hall.

2.Church activities
D Ayling, D Cliff, A Wady are organising a display in the Church to run through Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  It will be Art, Photography and floral displays to involve the school, local children and local artists .

3.Coronation cups
Coronation cups to be purchased for each child in the Parish.

5. Children’s activities
We hope to hire a Bouncy castle.
Sport events. Two parents from the school are willing to organise and run a sporting event for the children, egg and spoon race, sack race etc.
Coronation based fancy dress competition.  David Willoughby, Sue Barton and Guy Musgrave to judge.

The next Sessay Community Trust Committee meeting is at Sessay Village Hall on Monday 3rd April at 7:30.

Yoredale Strummers

Saturday 22nd April

The Tuesday Club presents the Yordale Strummers, a fabulous Ukulele Band live on stage. They have played at Sessay before and were fantastic by all accounts.

7:30 pm start, Supper included. Bar open and Raffle. Tickets £10 from any Tuesday Club member.

ChiChi FIT musical theatre workouts

Thursday April 13th at 1:45 pm and every Thursday

ChiChi FIT musical theatre workouts are created for musical theatre lovers who want to combine fitness with show tunes.

Sessay Bowls Club

April 1st

10:00 am Coffee Morning and Boston Bowls Event. Boston Bowls come to sell an extensive range of bowling equipment. Or just have a coffee and a natter.

Bowls season starts this month with The Club Opening competition The Marshall Cup scheduled for Sunday 16th at 1:00pm depending on the state of the green. This is a Sessay Bowls Club competition ideal for beginners and old pro’s alike. New members always welcome. You don’t need anything other than flat soled shoes.

The first match is away at Thirsk on April 24th. The rest of the matches can be found here

Sessay Village Bar

Sessay Village Bar is open regularly!

The new Cricket Season is upon us. This means the bar will be run in co-operation between the Cricket Club and people from the village. The Village Bar is open every Friday evening from 6pm for junior training until late, On Saturdays from 5-9 pm and on some Sundays when there are matches. Come and join friendly conversation and banter over a pint (other drinks available!). Occasional quizes or dominoes or other surprises. Bring your neighbour! If you are interested to help, please contact Dennis by email or just turn up.

Community Café – 10:00 – 11:30 Tea Cakes and Coffee – all welcome. A chance tomeet friends and neighbours over coffee and cake.
