Family Quiz Night

August 20th

There will be a community event in the form of a Family Quiz Night on Saturday August 20th at 6:30 pm in the Village Hall. Entry is £2 per adult £1 per child. Maximum 6 people per team. The Bar will be open and there will be hot dogs for sale. Prize for the winning team is a £20 bar voucher. All proceeds to the Village Hall refurbishment.

Beech Tree Cutting / Electrical Disruption

August 10th

The Beech Tree between the main road and the cricket pitch is expected to be removed due to disease on August 10th. There will be disruption the the electricity supply. Those concerned should be informed by Norther Powergrid. There will be restrictions to the road use during this time too. This will be managed by a stop / go sign operated by a traffic marshal.

Regular Events at the Village Hall

August 3rd

WI – Gut Feelings. 2:00pm. All women welcome.

August 9th

*** PLEASE NOTE This meeting is actually on TUESDAY ***

Tuesday Club – Snuff – Jenny Stacey 2:30 pm. All retired people welcome.
Date changed due to planned Beech Tree removal (see above).

August 14th

St Cuthbert’s, Sessay 10:30 Morning Prayer. Morning Prayer with coffee afterwards.

New sign post at the north of the village

August 22nd

Rural Arts 10:00 – 12:00 An opportunity to make something creative. Each month a local artist brings free materials and skills to help you make something arty! This month is Eco-printing. Also we have news that there is funding for the classes to continue to the end of the year.

August 24th

Parish Council Meeting 7:00 pm.

August 27th

Community Cafe – 10:00 – 11:30 Tea Cakes and Coffee – all welcome. Come to catch up with and make new friends in the village.

August 28th

St Cuthbert’s, Sessay 10:30 Holy Communion with Rev Pauline and coffee afterwards.

Sessay Bowls Club

Sessay Bowls club have a practice every Saturday morning between 10 am and 12 noon. Anyone is welcome to come and have a go. All you need is flat soled shoes. There are spare bowls of different weights to try. On August 5th Sessay Bowls Club are proud to host a County level match. Other fixtures can be found here.

The cricket club continue their busy season throughout August. See Sessay Cricket Club for details.

Sessay Village Bar

Open on Fridays 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and maybe earlier on match days. And also sometimes on Sunday match days too!
