Sessay Scarecrow festival was an amazing success.

Thank you to everyone one who took part in the Scarecrow Festival on Sunday, both organisers and attendees. The festival was an unprecedented success, building on the previous festival held in 2019. There were a total of 40 scarecrows throughout the main strip of the village. The weather held out apart from one or two drips. A large number of people wandered through the village, enjoyed tea and a fantastic selection of cakes, a pint and a burger too! All in all £1536.50 was raised.

One hundred and fourty five people entered the Scarecrow Trial. The Favourite scarecrow was Sessay School’s Paddington and the Queen. Guess the scarecrow name was Jack Ramshay.

There are a great many people to thank and a great effort was made by many volunteers from our community.

You can see a gallery of Scarecrow Pictures here. Im sure I will have missed one or two. Sorry if I missed yours. If you have a picture you can send it to me.
